That's a touching hymn that you've written in a poem. Focusing on God and being open to the leading of the Spirit will keep us from running aground. We will still journey through tempests, but we can be confident that we are eternal beings having experiences that are helpful to us in ways we can't fully understand.

John Newton wrote Amazing Grace after sailing his ship through a violent storm that threatened to end his life. He called it his "great deliverance" and felt the hand of God on his life.
