Hello Jill,Your experience of dreaming about Jim was wonderful, and that's very much in keeping with what we know about those who cross over. They want us to understand that death is just a transition and not to be concerned about them—they're fine.
Jim is going on with his life now. He has a new occupation and is growing in spiritual maturity. He has a house where he lives and has those who crossed over before him around him.
The afterlife is a thought realm. People are as real on that vibration plane as we are on this Earth plane, with bodies and houses and landscapes. But they communicate more by thought and thoughts influence their lives more. We also communicate by thought on the Earth plane, but we're so caught up in the physical realm that the thoughts get drowned out.
Those in the afterlife communicate with us by thought. They also receive our thoughts. When you think about him, he receives your thoughts, wherever he happens to be in the afterlife. However, he doesn't follow you around all day. He has a new life there and he's very busy and happy. He's not the person you know, now. He's matured and has learned more lessons. He's evolving in his spirit.
If he wants to communicate with you, he will. You don't need to work at trying to get a message from him. If he wants you to have it, he'll give it to you. He's not concerned about you because he now knows that life is eternal, and when you cross over, you'll see him again. But that doesn't mean he expects to have a relationship with you as partners. He expects you to go on with your life and have other loves. There is no feeling of possession in the afterlife. All those you've loved will be there, and no one will feel like you have to love them more than someone else.
As far as the feeling he wants you to be with him, that's simply not coming from him in the afterlife. They NEVER feel that. They know that life is a blink of the eye in time, and you have your life to live and lessons to learn. He wouldn't want you to stop that. If you cross over in 40 years or 60 years it doesn't make any difference. And he isn't expecting you to stop your life and never love anyone else. He certainly isn't expecting you to end your life.
All those in the afterlife who communicate with us tell us that suicide is not an option. It doesn't solve anything. We need to work out our problems in this life—that's why we're here. Those who commit suicide still have to work out their problems, but unfortunately they have to do it while they see the anguish they caused those who loved them on the Earthly plane. They're not judged or condemned for their action, but they judge themselves and always feel very sorry they did it because of the pain it caused.
So Jim wants you to live your life and grow to have more love and compassion. He would never want you to end your life. If he wants to communicate, he will, very clearly. You'll know it. If it's a dream, it will be like the first dream you had. You'll awaken and know for sure it was him and you'll remember the message. If you don't get a clear message, it's just your physical realm fears. They're not from him. If you have a frightening dream or a dream suggesting you end your life, it will be from your physical realm fears and it won't feel like it came from him. He would never suggest that. And he doesn't follow you around or haunt you. He's busy with his own life.
Yes, there is a need to let go, but it's your need to let go of him. If he were trying to communicate with you, you'd hear him clearly. Go on with your life and be happy.
Love and peace, Craig
